Preventive Dentistry and Oral Health

Dental disease is like heart disease, in that it is only when it has reached an advanced stage that we notice it.

One can sometimes get a window into a problem which is starting when told they have bad breath, but nothing is as good as regular checkups to make certain that teeth, gums and oral soft tissues are all free of disease.

With life expectancy ever increasing, we need to have a long term plan to not just keep teeth decay free but to make sure they stay solid in the jaws with healthy gum attachment.

Just as importantly our teeth need to keep their vertical height. By maintaining good oral health and preventing wear from bruxism (grinding) and erosion (chemical wear), we can complete the ultimate goal of ‘Teeth for Life.”
