About Us

Our Philosophy

Thomas Jefferson in 1817 said:

“People need to possess information enough to perceive the important truths that knowledge is power, knowledge is safety and knowledge is happiness.”

In these pages, we hope to share with people, information that isn’t just about dental treatment, but also give an insight into the broader picture of dental health and help empower them to identify and manage, if not prevent, dental and oral disorders which can arise at different stages of their life.

We are humbled to be given the opportunity to help people with their dental needs, and believe that they deserve the best treatment available to maximise the chance of their teeth lasting a lifetime. With ever improving knowledge and technology, life expectancy is rising, meaning that they will require their teeth to last longer than in previous generations.

We spend the time needed, use the highest quality materials and the latest diagnostic & treatment technologies so that we can keep procedures less invasive with more durable outcomes for the long term – and still at an affordable cost.

From all of us here at Merrylands Professional Dental.

Meet the Dentists

Dr John Moses

John was raised on a small farm in the hills behind Lismore in northern NSW.

On finishing school, he entered Sydney University and graduated with his Bachelor Of Dental Surgery in 1982.

At graduation he received the John Stephen Hill Award in clinical operative dentistry and the Dr Robert Bruce Maxwell Award in theoretical and clinical operative dentistry.

Operative Dentistry includes fillings, root canal therapy, crowns, implants and cosmetic dentistry all of which to this day remain his interest.

His personal challenge these days is to achieve lasting clinical success using the least invasive and least costly treatment options available.

On a Personal Note

He married Angela Burns in 1984 and they have three adult daughters.

He tries to stay fit doing lots of swimming and walking most days.

He is a reserved man who likes the simple things such as spending time with family and a few friends and these days cruising, often just a short one up to the islands of the south pacific.

Dr Angela Moses

After their wedding in 1984, Angela joined John in practice. Angela does all aspects of family and preventative dentistry. Her special interest is helping our patients achieve optimum gum health. Keeping gums healthy and as a result solid teeth is part of our goal of ‘Teeth for Life’

Dr Sylvia Foerstner

Sylvia, an honours graduate, joined the dental practice in 1996. Sylvia is interested in General Family Dentistry, along with Preventative Dentistry with the aim of maintaining ‘Teeth for Life”
